The Continuum  A few good basic tutorials including a good chrome and a nice basic one on using a mask for a "fade out" effect.

Deep Space Web  Very good collection of fun and easily- followed tutorials covering basic topics, text effects, interfaces, etc.

Digital Creativity  Some really nice tutorials for beginners and up, actions, gallery.

Digitalhints  Several straightforward tutorials on topics like screws, simple buttons, and wires. You can also now get pdf downloads of some of the tuts or watch viewlets.

Elated  This link takes you past all their annoying entrance screens straight to the tuts. The best ones are lighting effects, a few gradient tips, how to make a rollover.

Eyeball Design  Some nice tutorials for "high tech" effects in a very attractive site.

80Four  A few special effects tutorials at the beginner level. I like the shattered text one.

Extreme Photoshop  Several cool special effects tuts. Scanlines, tentacles, and a soccer ball are among the topics.

GFX Artist  Very nice collection of tutorials which deal with digital painting, from sketch to completion.

Graphx Design Tutorials  Once you make it through the ads to the tutorials, you will find some really good ones here. I like the "runny text" that looks a bit like blood, the metal plate with screws, and the flag in the wind.

Guru's  Click Home in the "Go back to" to get to all the tuts. I just take you to this one because it is the best one on the use of the displacement filter, (till i write mine).

Hands On  A few very fine tutorials on topics like how to make a glass button, masks, lighting effects, and more.

JLS Websource   Some nice tutorials, including the one I used for my rose-colored glass

Jeff's Photoshop Tips & Tricks  Nice little list of short beginners' tutorials on such things as bevelled buttons, tiled backgrounds, and TV lines.

Kraix   This guy has some nice tutorials for cool effects. I particularly like the mesh netting and the rusted hook! (Some of the language on this site is not for the timid.)

Magic's Photoshop Tutorials  From beginner on up, lots of good tutorials and a very neat interface! Learn how to make buttons, interfaces, slicing, compositing, and other basics. Uses version 4 but much of the stuff still is good.

Marex Quite a few "recipes" for really good effects such as pipes, chains, blood, fire text, cracks & dents, page curl, neon tubes, and the like. The wood is very good as are many others.

Metamorephosis Several fun effects for Photoshop and ImageReady. I like the spooky text, diamond text, and the motion shadow effect.

Nebulus Designs Photoshop in 21 Days  He doesn't have all 21 days, but what he does have is a fantastic resource and a neat and tidy course in beginning Photoshop. Learn about "gamuts", color palettes, lighting effects, much more!

Orion  Some nice tutorials on texture effects, a neat vignette effect, buttons, animations, and more. These are well-written and easy to follow.

PC Resources for Photoshop & Digital Photographer  Click on Tutorials in the top interface for a collection of basic tutorials. Topics range from using the v.5.* gradient tool to unsharp mask and making digital photography closeups.

Pegasus Web Design Resources  Nice collection of tutorials for making website headers and interface designs. Other topics include textures and some special effects.

Perfect Pixels Photoshop Tutorials  Several nice effects here. Includes some text effects, textured metal, water, rough stone, drippy text, and a page curl. Version 5, but most things apply across versions.

Phong Fun effects in a really trippy site with kicky navigation.. but don't be in a hurry. I particularly like the wires and the e-plastic text.

Photoshop Cafe  Several nicely done tutorials for effects such as chrome, water droplets, getting rid of a background (extract tool) and brushed metal. Also one on rollovers in ImageReady.

PhotoshopEtc. Many tutorials contributed by the site's members. Art & effects tuts include plastic text, edge effects, and a nice "how to draw a flower" tutorial. I also like the "basic Tutorials."

Photoshop Guru's Handbook  All kinds of cool PS things, including a great list of tutorials for newbies through advanced. Includes text effects, scanlines, plastic effects, much more. With this author's methods of teaching, you can learn to solve your problems rather than just following a recipe.

Photoshop Junkie Looking for a way to change the color of your car or add funky racing stripes? This site has it. Just car stuff at this fun site.

PhotoshopResource.com If you don't mind the annoying ads, you can have some fun with these tutorials. Topics include drawing with shapes, coloring a line drawing, and mangling people with Liquify.

Photoshop Techniques  Fire and rain! Just the 2 tuts so far, but this is the best tut on making of realistic fire that i've seen! (Once you click in, choose Techniques from the top interface.)

Production Graphics w/ Wendy Peck  Many tutorials for PS and for other graphics programs too including Illustrator, PSP, Corel Draw and Fireworks. Also see the Graphics Greats section where graphics professionals are interviewed, and don't miss Dan Giordan's PS tutorials.

PS6.com Richard Lynch, author of Using Photoshop 6, presents several really nicely done tutorials. Topics include basic color correction, creating transparency for the web, symmetrical shapes, and the extract tool. He is moving more tutorials to his site, as well.

Raytracing in Photoshop  Learn how to make some very realistic 3D effects using this technique. This is NOT a beginners' tutorial!

Robouk  Some great glossy plastic effects and others in a well laid-out site.

Roxanne's  Well-done tutorials that are easily understood even for newbies. Nice tutorial on edge effects,  some good beveled button effects, creating text background tiles, and more. 

Savvy   A nice listing of neat tutorials written at a basic level. Effects include grooves, glow, mercury, metal pipes, button basics, and wires.

Shades' Space Tutorial  Follow Shades through the creation of a neat space cloud with stars. He has just the one tutorial right now, but you should find this worth your trip!

Shanzcan  Shan has it going on! Many excellent tutorials including some geometric topics, photo enhancement, and general study materials for PS.

Spoono  Some neat tuts for effects. Includes brushes, chrome, grunge backgrounds, lighting effects, neon, and adding color to part of an image.

Stewart Dean's Webspace  Some very nice tutorials including the best for chrome on the 'net.

Stickysauce  Among the PS tuts, there are some standard text effects, retouching, tv scanlines, and more. These are strictly recipe-type directions.

Sue Chastain's Original Tutorials  Several fun how-tos including making a snow globe, a seamless pattern with cow spots, and see-thru text from the PS Guide for About.com. You will have to deal with a couple of About's annoying pop-ups.

Team Photoshop  Many really good tutorials for some neat effects. best gel text and they approach some beginner topics in a humourous way.

ThinkDan Tutorials  A fine set of tutorials for several graphics programs including a large group of Photoshop tutorials. If you can deal with the annoying flashing banners here, you find topics from goop text and photo retouching to making a CD-like image.

Trevor Morris  Many really great tutorials from Trevor including the best one for rounded corners, a neat ray of light effect, and many more.

Van Der Ree's Page  best tutorial on putting text into a circle or an oval using polar coordinates.

VDL - Tutorials - Graphics  Exact cropping for feathered-edge graphics, backlighting, and a cool "design sketch lines" tutorial. Different stuff, well-said.

Wacom Tip Archive  Making a photo into a painting, hand-drawn textures, and many more effects in these short tutorials with emphasis on use of the Wacom tablet.

Web Developer: Site Design & Graphics  A few nice beginner's tutorials like making an interface and several text effects. Topics include Photoshop, general graphic design principles, and website design. Has several neat PS effects like burning text, chalk and dripping text.

WebGFX Center  A fine group of interesting beginner-level tutorials including chrome, color blending, cutout, graffiti, metallic textures, and textured text.

Webgraphicworks  Just four effect how-tos, but I really like the "Scary Logo" one. The textured sphere is pretty cool too.

Chainstyle  A tidy collection of fine tutorials on topics of interest to photographers. Includes color -> b&w, simulating infrared, vignetting, diffusion, and more. The best tutorial i've seen on correcting an underexposed photo!

Chris Stocker  A fine tutorial for one method for cutting out hair.

Davro Digital Imaging  Some really unique and creative tutorials here. Many "teasers" for the CD that the author offers for sale.

Digiphoto  Quite a few nice tutorials on using photoshop to perform "magic" on your photos. e.g. making a mermaid, improving photos, and special effects using bottles.

Digital Creativity  Tutorials on topics such as compositing photos, creating a watercolor, fake photos, making reflections in water, and colouring. Also actions, gallery.

Feather River Canyon News -- Digital Imaging  Tutorials on effective use of the digital camera and on working with photographs. best tut on making old images look new again.

Fertile Press  Only one tutorial, but I really like it. It leads you through creation of a postage stamp in PS, showing some nice photo-montage techniques along the way. You can also take a tour of this artist's studio!

Guntcher Graphics  The best tutorial on photo faking, other nice tutorials and info on photo manipulation, sharpening, and more faking.

The Williams Studio Tutorials  -- Only three tutorials so far (links are at bottom of page): resolution, custom brushes, and a cool broken monitor effect.

Red-Eye Removal Links
Espresso Graphics This tutorial works for when just the pupil is red. It uses the sponge tool to desaturate.

Write Clik   This is a downloadable action (and tut) for removing redeye. It works by exchanging info from the blue channel into the red one.

Shantel's DigiPhoto   Several neat ways to "remodel" people, including how to change eye color. This can help in fixing redeye too.

Digital Camera Course Very much an outline for a method that works by adjusting saturation of color channels.

Design & Publishing Center This is a way to paint eyes back in. Not sure how well it would work, as there are no pics to go along with it.

About.com This uses a microview window and then shows you how to paint over the iris.

Lars Ekdahl's tutorial includes a nice section on how to prevent it to start with. Then he tells a couple of ways to treat redeye when it affects just the pupil. This method uses paste into with the color channels.

Davro Digital Imaging This is good for when just the pupil is affected. It uses a black brush with a layer in Color blending mode.

bbDigital Imaging  best tutorials for altering/improving photos using Photoshop.

Bouton's Goal-Oriented Art  Several tutorials for Photoshop and for other art programs (Xara, TrueSpace, Painter, Illustrator).

Chiseled Rocks  Great little collection of tutorials and essays on what makes a good cartoonist and how this one does his work in photoshop.

Creative Pro  Tutorial sites for use of graphics programs, gallery of sites honored for their design in various categories, forum for web developers.

Design With Photoshop See how Ali makes some of the components of his fabulous interfaces (see link below in galleries). Very well-written and easy to follow. 

 Digiscape  a few Photoshop tutorials, including one of the better ones for masking hair. (where did it go?)

Digital Web Gold best gold. An amazing listing of tutorials on the creation of metallic-appearing objects.

Dsigning.com  Site offers some excellent, though simple-to-follow tutorials including some clever text effects and a nice embossed button. 

Eric's FX  Eric takes some wedding snapshots and takes us step-by-step through some enhancements.

Graphixland  Quite a few very basic tutorials. I rather like the fire text one. 

Haus of Photoshop  Very cool site with several basic tutorials on such things as transparency, rounded corners, and seamless tiles.

HPS Adobe Software Tips  A few short tutorials for Photoshop 3. Includes work with textures, making a photo collage, and working with lighting effects.

I-Service  Some very good tutorials done in German and English. Effects include chrome, speed type, pipes, punched type and more. (Use the tiny buttons in the yellow interface to navigate.)

Illustrator Resources  Tutorials in a submit-your-own format, a few actions and plug-ins.

The JoeyPage  Rounded corners, cool wires, and the best lightning i've seen, written up and illustrated in some fine tutorials. Just the 3 for now, but he promises more soon.

Joe Williams' PS Tutorials  Many cool tutorials in Viewlet form

Joyce's Photoshop Tutorials  A section for just v. 6.0, several on color techniques, text effects, more.

Kewlpack  Great little set of tutorials including the best one on splicing of images, and one on using the "extract" tool.

L'Univers de Photoshop  en Francais ... Voulez-vous apprendre quelque chose? Donc commencons par de petits cours simples, puis doucement on s'attaquera à plus intéressant tel que du photo montage, etc...

Marko Media  Photoshop tips & tricks is really a fine listing of this author's own tutorials from subjects ranging from carved-in text, custom interfaces, and crayon etching.

Michellezworld Tutorials  Many tutorials in Viewlet form. If you like to learn by watching, then this might be for you.

Navworks  Some good tutorials presented in a humorous fashion, including a cute little animated pinwheel effect done with polar coordinates.

Neofrog  Nice glass buttons, gears, rust, chains, wires, and a really good screw. (Hey, tell me you don't want one!)

Optico  Several easily-followed recipes for such effects as gridlines, wires, rust, a stone texture, and a pretty cool "scrambled colors text".

Philspage  A fine collection of well-done and easily understandable tutorials on PS techniques including such topics as use of radical curves, difference gradients, hand bevelling, and glowing type.

Photoshop Club Several tutorials for Illustrator, also rollovers and tweening in Image Ready.

Photoshop Ticks  (yes) Some really well-done tutorials on making textures like moss, grass, and stone, and some text effects.

Pixelfied Several really neat tutorials! I particularly like the one that shows how to make a pencil sketch look from a photo. Other topics are a ray of sun, night vision goggle view, a grunge look, a light burst through type, and more.

Project Crunch  Great little collection of tutorials on beginner topics like how to make basic shapes, perspective shadows, and a neat Tie Dye effect.

Tutorials - FR  Si vous parlez Francais, c'est un bon resource pour toi pour des tutoriaux pour Photoshop et des autres.

Ultimate Photoshop  A huge listing of tutorials with links to the authors' sites.

Wasted Youth  Many original tutorials for different levels of users. Topics include interface shapes, text techniques, and several nice "jewel" techniques.

Web Design from El Centro College Library  An incredible resource with tons of material on website creation including help with HTML, Javascript, Design, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop. Also, under More Info, click Links for an amazing assortment of web development links.
